While Junior Fellow Day kicks off officially on Sunday morning, Junior Fellows will take center stage this afternoon during the third annual Jenny & Keith White “Are You Smarter Than a Junior Fellow?” session.
The hour-long event starts at 4:30 pm today in Hall D. Incoming ACOG President Haywood L. Brown, MD, FACOG, returns as moderator for the third time, and will pass the moderator’s torch to Kenneth H. Kim, MD, MPH, FACS, who will take the lead this year.
This event gives everybody a chance to engage in an educational and fun-filled session that pits Fellows against two young physician members. The ACOG version of the television game show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” uses questions that are graded by difficulty, from PGY-1 to PGY-4, and ends with a final challenge question.
Both teams have the opportunity to get help from Junior Fellows to answer the questions that will remind Fellows of the days when “ob-gyn trivia” was known by all. The Junior Fellows on stage represent each ACOG district and will be ready to answer when the professors call on them for assistance.
Scheduled to compete for the Fellows team are Paula J. Adams Hillard, MD, Stanford University, Stanford, CA.; and F. Gary Cunningham, MD, University of Texas Western Medical Center, Dallas, TX. The young physicians will be represented by Cynthia Brincat, MD, PhD, Loyola University, Baltimore, MD.; and Recia L. Frenn, MD, North Riverside, IL.
