2017 Annual Meeting
The 2017 Annual Meeting took place in San Diego, CA from May 6 – 9, 2017. More than 3,800 attendees earned up to 27 CME credits while learning about cutting-edge topics in obstetrics and gynecology. A new daily concentration of presentations in key areas allowed attendees to efficiently focus on topics of most value to them: minimally invasive surgery, high risk obstetrics, family planning, and menopause.
In addition to daily plenary talks and e-poster presentations, learning opportunities included three- and six-hour postgraduate courses, surgical tutorials and a live laparoscopic telesurgery session. Several sessions were presented as “flipped” classrooms, which allow students to learn content online more readily by watching video lectures, completing text readings, and considering discussion points usually at home before the lecture, and then completing “homework” in class to solve problems and discuss questions. Eleven subspecialty societies presented up-to-date information on topics specially formulated to inform the practicing ob-gyn generalist.
The 2017 Annual Meeting also provided numerous opportunities outside the classroom. The Exhibit Hall featured more than 250 exhibitors and provided a home for a Career Fair with 30 prospective employers as well as ACOG’s participatory social media campaign.
