All postgraduate and hands-on sessions take place exclusively on the Monday of this year’s meeting. In the past, they were sprinkled throughout the full meeting schedule, and last year took place on the Monday and Tuesday of the meeting. This year, organizers have adjusted the schedule so attendees get the most out of both these extra-fee courses and the other educational opportunities at the meeting.
Having postgraduate and hands-on courses at the end of the meeting allows attendees to focus on other learning opportunities completely for the first three days and then turn their attention to the more intense learning available in the postgraduate and hands-on sessions.
Attendees really enjoy the hands-on courses, which offer an interactive experience. They start with a didactic presentation. The six-hour hands-on course allows participants more time to try out new techniques and improve their skill level.
Postgraduate courses offer a more didactic experience but add robust and extended questions-and-answer opportunities. Experts and leaders teach all of the sessions.
Lunch is provided during the six-hour session.
Those registering for the Annual Meeting can sign up for hands-on and postgraduate courses. Those who already have registered but now want to sign up for these courses need to go into the account they created for this year’s meeting and add the desired courses to their registration.
Attendees wanting to take part are encouraged to register as soon as possible, especially for the hands-on courses, since those have limited space and fill up fast.
Each six-hour postgraduate course costs $290. A three-hour postgraduate course is $165. A three-hour hands-on course costs $325, and the six-hour hands-on course is $650.
More information about the sessions is available at annualmeeting.acog.org.
