Annual Meeting attendees this year have a chance to add their own touch to a special art project that will go on display at ACOG headquarters.
Joani Rothenberg, an internationally known artist, art therapist and wife of ACOG member Jeffrey M. Rothenberg, MD, FACOG, has created along with her creative partner Yael Buxbaum, a three-panel mural of blooming Washington cherry trees that attendees will help finish at each of the next three Annual Meetings.
This year’s panel will be located on the L Street Bridge. Attendees will take colored tiles and attach them to the mural. Everybody is encouraged to participate regardless of artistic ability.
ACOG hopes this team-building project fosters a spirit of cooperation among members.
Rothenberg and other volunteers will be available to offer help and answer questions. Other volunteers from an Indianapolis hospital hospice program that works with Rothenberg will start the mural by filling in some of the mural’s more intricate areas before the annual meeting starts.
