Innovation Rodeo, the latest example of ACOG’s well-earned reputation for original, entertaining, and engaging educational programs, will be open through Sunday at this year’s Annual Meeting.
Centrally located in the Exhibit Hall, the rodeo will bring educational games, learning labs, digital activations, and networking opportunities together in one place. All activities in the rodeo are included in the meeting registration.
Education Arcade is inside the Innovation Rodeo. All attendees can earn up to one CME credit each day they participate in the Education Arcade games.
PROLOG Games and Squares will return to the Education Arcade after proving popular with attendees last year.
At the pinball-inspired PROLOG Games stations, players can pick from four different challenges, including a timed challenge and one to see how many participants can answer correctly in a row. These games are built in the quiz mode for PROLOG, the self-directed learning tool and reference guide for obtaining up-to-date specialty information. This year will include questions from the new Obstetrics, Eighth Edition.
Squares is a twist on the classic “musical chairs” game from childhood. Up to 20 attendees will play on a 20-by-20-foot square with four quadrants. Multiple-choice questions will appear on a large monitor, and participants will have to move to a square with the correct answer. Winning players will have to know the answers quickly.
New to the Education Arcade in 2018, District Challenge allows attendees to answer questions, with correct answers earning points for the attendee’s district. A leaderboard will keep participants informed about how each district is doing.
Also new is the Countdown to CREOG. This game gives participants a chance to answer questions from topics that had the most missed answers from past CREOG exams.
The Innovation Rodeo also includes two virtual reality (VR) stations covering the pre-operative, surgery, and post-operative components for vaginal hysterectomy. The VR stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No CME will be awarded for VR participation.
The ACOG Resource Center, which also includes the ACOG Bookstore this year, will offer touch screen technology for ordering Your Pregnancy and Childbirth, Month to Month, Revised Sixth Edition. Simply select how many books you want to order, whether they need to be in English or Spanish, and scan your meeting badge to get them shipped to your home or office instead of carrying them back from the meeting.
Also at the Rodeo, the Partner Pavilion was created to highlight the following ACOG initiatives: CREOG, FASD, WPSI, Immunizations, LARC, the Green Journal, and the Office of Global Women’s Health. Visitors can use an interactive world map with different screens to explore different volunteer opportunities.
