During its meeting on Saturday, the Junior Fellow Congress Advisory Council (JFCAC) elected Katherine (Katie) McHugh, MD as vice chair.
Dr. McHugh currently serves as District V Junior Fellow chair. She will champion the ideas and consensus of the JFCAC while supporting the success of members in their respective districts. Dr. McHugh’s first Congressional Leadership Conference helped unleash her passion for advocacy and finding ways to make the world better for women. As the Junior Fellow representative on the Governing and Executive Committees, she will bring forward constituent concerns about education, patients, and future practicing physicians.
She is an associate professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and a freelance author for WebMD.com’s Women’s Health Blog. Dr. McHugh earned her medical degree and did her residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
