Junior Fellows are the future of ACOG. Join your Junior Fellow colleagues for a day of professional growth.
Organizers this year made an adjustment in the Junior Fellow Day schedule to encourage the Junior Fellows to learn more about ACOG leadership opportunities. After lunch in the Exhibit Hall on Sunday, Junior Fellows will join the Congress Advisory Council (CAC) Forum, “Pathways to ACOG Leadership” scheduled from 1 – 1:45 pm in Sapphire Ballroom AB of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel.
“We wanted Junior Fellows to have the opportunity to attend this session in prior years, but there were always conflicts,” said the Junior Fellow Congress Advisory Council (JFCAC) Chair, Kristen Zeligs, MD.
Junior Fellow Day begins at 8 am with the ABOG morning session in the Convention Center’s Ballroom 6C. This session focuses on what Junior Fellows need to know to pass their exams. Individual sessions highlight the oral exam, written exam, and do’s and don’ts for preparing case lists.
The afternoon session starts at 1 pm in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, with the “Pathways to ACOG Leadership” session, followed by the Hayworth Junior Fellow Course on contracts and the business of medicine and a session on financial planning and the basics to start a solid financial foundation. The afternoon concludes with an educational session on how to prepare a quality curriculum vita.
“It’s a wonderful day for all Junior Fellows, but particularly those in training,” Dr. Zeligs said. “It’s really a day that has been designed by Junior Fellows to help with various aspects of their career planning and professional growth.
“The Junior Fellow Day offers this group a chance to come together and network among sessions of high interest and high yield. I think it’s a unique opportunity to meet Junior Fellows from other programs and to be able to network and collaborate with them.”
