ACOG will honor Kevin C. Kiley, MD, MG (Ret), FACOG, with the Luella Klein Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing the 41st surgeon general of the Army during this morning’s Presidential Inauguration and Convocation.
Dr. Kiley retired from the Army in 2008 and since then has worked as associate professor and chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albany Medical College in New York and chief of obstetric services at Albany Medical Center.
The graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine completed a surgical internship and ob-gyn residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX. He first served as chief of ob-gyn services at the 121st Evacuation Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, and then returned as chief of family planning and counseling and subsequently as chairman of ob-gyn at William Beaumont AMC, leading a large residency program. Dr. Kiley followed that by serving in a variety of Army command and leadership positions of increasing responsibility.
He also served at ACOG as chair of the Armed Forces District and as a member and chair of ACOG’s Committee on Finance. He was elected as ACOG National Treasurer in 2009.
Dr. Kiley, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, also is an ACOG Fellow. His awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, the Outstanding District Service Award, the Albany Medical College Distinguished Service Award and selection by the college as an Honorary Alum in 2014.
