2016’s popular attendee-aided special art project returns this year to San Diego.
The mural project started last year in Washington, DC. Internationally known artist Joani Rothenberg, art therapist and wife of ACOG member Jeffrey M. Rothenberg, MD, FACOG, and her creative partner, Yael Buxbaum, created a three-panel mural of blooming Washington cherry trees. Attendees finished the first panel at last year’s meeting and will work on the second panel this year in the Sails Pavilion in the convention center.
Attendees take colored tiles and attach them to the mural. Everybody is encouraged to participate regardless of artistic ability. Rothenberg, Buxbaum and other volunteers will be available to offer help and answer questions.
ACOG hopes this three-year team-building project fosters a spirit of cooperation among members. When finished, the mural will go on display at ACOG headquarters.
