SESSION TYPES

SESSION TYPE DESCRIPTIONS

The ACOG Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting has session types to appeal to any learning style.  Choose the ones that are best for you or sample from among the wide variety.  Please note some session types require additional fees. Consult the Registration section for more information.

COLLOQUIA/COLLOQUIA DEBATES

Colloquia are keynote lectures held throughout each day of the scientific program. Many of the sessions will feature debates covering current and controversial topics. These sessions are open to all meeting registrants.

CLINICAL SEMINARS

These 50-minute sessions are interactive lectures on topics of special interest with a course director leading the discussion. There is no additional fee to attend these popular sessions; however, registration is required.

CUTTING-EDGE TOPICS

This Cutting-Edge Topics session features a panel of Presidents from subspecialty societies who will bring you up-to-date on the hot topics and current trends that have the most impact. This session is open to all meeting registrants.

HANDS-ON COURSES

These 3 hour and 6 hour courses provide a didactic and interactive (hands-on) component so participants can further immerse themselves in learning. Additional fee. Lunch is provided for 6 hour courses only.

FILM FESTIVAL

The Film Festival will present a select number of films showcasing various procedures and research in the advancements of the field of obstetrics and gynecology over three sessions. These sessions are open to all meeting registrants.

FLIPPED CLASSROOMS

The Flipped Classroom is a new style of adult learning that features interactive and comprehensive learning and retention. Registrants will receive video and supplemental materials prior to the session to review. This enables the session to focus on more memorable content. There is no additional fee to attend these popular sessions; however, registration is required. Pre-meeting materials will be sent to you for review.

TRIFECTA CLINICAL SEMINARS

New this year: The clinical seminar trifecta! Three clinical seminars in one room. Similar topic, three presentations with the opportunity to listen to one and watch all three.

This session is open to all meeting registrants; however, registration is required.

LUNCH CONVERSATIONS

Enjoy stimulating, professional exchanges during lunch. Subjects of special interest will be the focus of these small group discussions. Each group is limited to 9 attendees in addition to the discussion leader. Additional fee of $55.00.

POSTGRADUATE COURSES

Clinically oriented 3 hour and 6 hour courses taught by leading experts in the field. Because learner participation is a valued part of each course, opportunities for interaction between participants and faculty are built into the program. Additional fee. Lunch is provided for 6 hour courses only.

SURGICAL TUTORIALS

Surgical Tutorials will incorporate the use of slides, video, case-based formats, and interactive demonstrations. There is no additional fee to attend these popular sessions; however, registration is required.

SUBSPECIALTY COLLABORATIVE SESSIONS

These sessions are presented by subspecialty societies and are geared towards the practicing ob-gyn. There is no additional fee to attend these popular sessions; however, registration is required.
